Henna Magic

Henna conditioning, Henna coloring and Henna, mehndi applications on your hair

Sree is the expert in henna. So please girl if I miss with something do the correction.

Ingredients:
2 teaspoon non-colouring henna (get the highest grade possible)
Very hot, freshly boiled water (sufficient to form a thick paste)
3 tablespoon plain yoghurt
1 tablespoon warm olive oil or sweet almond oil
3 to 4 drops of your favourite essential oils
(For hair care, the best essential oils to use would be lavender, rosemary, sage and basil)

Preparation:
Mix henna powder and water in a plastic, glass or ceramic bowl and spoon (never use metal utensils when mixing henna) to form a thick, smooth paste. Allow to cool.
Add yogurt and mix until smooth.
Set aside for 2 hours.

Usage:
Dampen hair and squeeze out excess water, leaving the hair slightly damp.
Apply the olive oil or sweet almond oil (mix with a few drops of essential oils if you like) onto the hair shaft, paying attention to the hair ends. Do not apply oil onto the scalp.
Apply the henna-yoghurt mixture evenly onto the hair and scalp, section by section. Massage your scalp gently in circular motion as you go along.
If you have long hair, bun it up before covering it with a shower cap.
Wrap with a towel to keep the hair firmly in place.
Allow the mixture to work on your hair for 30 to 40 minutes.
Rinse off thoroughly with warm water.
Shampoo your hair as usual.
